Each of Taylor Wimpey’s regional businesses has a finance team that drives the commercial performance of their respective business and are responsible for providing valuable reports to our Group Finance team based in Head Office. Led by their Finance Director, each of these teams are vital to the financial structure of the organisation. Through quarterly forecasts and monthly accounts, they provide key data to the board and enable some of the most important strategic decisions for the business. The Head of Finance will work with the Finance Director and board members to plan and develop the regional business strategy, challenging assumptions, identifying trends, ensuring the robustness of performance measures and monitoring success against them.

What you will do:

  • Ensure accurate and timely preparation and reporting of: monthly management accounts; profit and cash flow forecasts; annual statutory accounts; weekly sales reporting; and other ad hoc regional projections
  • Responsible for planning and coordination of the twice yearly regional business planning process
  • Provide the Board with analysis and interpretation of performance against Business Plan
  • Ownership of the regional risk register
  • Preparation of the regional monthly Board Report and Divisional Board Papers
  • Advise on the cash flow implications of management decisions and manage the regions cashflow on a day to day basis
  • Ensure accounting standards and internal control procedures are acceptable to internal and external auditors and are followed
  • Ensure that commercial information and procedures that directly impact on financial accounts and management information are in accordance with group manuals and procedures
  • Be an advisor and provide to regional staff help, guidance and assistance on company accounting, taxation and financial matters

What you will have:

  • ACA or CIMA qualified - preferred
  • Previous industry experience - preferred
  • Previous experience as Head of Finance or Finance Manager/Company Accountant - preferred
  • Working knowledge of MS Office and Excel in particular
  • Experience in managing and developing a team of staff
