Our regional Strategic Land teams are responsible for sourcing, appraising and gaining planning consent on complex land acquisitions across the UK. They support our regional land teams to secure key land that contributes to Taylor Wimpey groups land bank. 

Working from our South Midlands office, 3 days a week & 2 days from home, the successful candidate will support them around forecasting, budgets and preparation of other land and planning records in order to meet monthly deadlines.

What you will do:


  • Monitoring of the Strategic Land Finance Mailbox and efficient response to queries.
  • Shared monitoring of the Strategic Land invoices Mailbox, alongside the Accounts Clerk, with efficient response to queries.
  • Raising land payments (CHAPS) for the Strategic Land team, ensuring the appropriate authorisations are in place.
  • Completing Strategic Land transactional posting in the Cash Book, General Ledger, Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger.
  • Update the Advances spreadsheet and process transactions on behalf of Strategic Land.
  • Responsible for bank reconciliations and preparation of VAT return submissions.
  • Ensuring financial control through monthly ledger and preparation of balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Input and reconciliation of site data held within Anaplan.
  • Maintaining and updating the schedule of sites due for transfer to the Regional Business Units and instigating the transfers as and when required.
  • Responsible for the analysis of option write offs, abortive spend, sundry spend and pre-acquisition spend.
  • Maintaining and updating the redundant asset portfolio schedule on a monthly basis.
  • Assisting the Finance Manager with the production of the monthly reporting.
  • To work collaboratively with SL Accounts Clerk based on individual workloads.

Quarterly/ Annually

  • Assisting with the production of the JV statutory accounts.
  • Assisting with the preparation and consolidation of regional forecasts and budgets.

Ad Hoc

  • Assisting with the preparation of ad-hoc reports as and when necessary.
  • Assisting the team with any tasks when there is capacity to do so.
  • Responding to requests for information from the Strategic Land team.

What you will have:

  • AAT qualified or equivalent
  • Required Relevant experience within an accounting function, preferably with exposure to analytical and control processes.
  • Required Good previous experience of spreadsheet analysis in a financial environment (intermediate Excel).

  • Good organisational skills and ability to manage workload to good time and meet deadlines
