We build over 15,000 homes a year and are now looking to grow our directly employed trade’s teams, so if you are looking for a career in Production then you’ll be joining a business with a passion for getting things right the first time and exceeding customer expectations. We are looking for quality skilled tradespeople that really take pride in the work they do.
 
As an apprentice Carpenter, you will be based on the development and involved with new build homes from start to finish. You will read drawings to understand what is required to enable a build. You will learn about joisting and roofing, 1st, the 2nd and the Final fix. Learning to use tools of the trade and abide by the health and safety requirements in the working environment. You will ensure all work complies with the standards and procedures and that you abide by the safety rules whilst building good working relationships.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for carrying out a range of carpentry and joinery works throughout the build process.
  • Responsible for the installation of various household components, i.e. doors, frames, skirting etc.
  • Ensuring the work is completed to a high standard.
  • To attend college and complete all coursework.

What you will have:

  • English & Maths GCSEs  
  • Driving licence & use of a vehicle 
  • Awareness of Safety Issues is preferred. 
  • Knowledge of Properties is preferred. 
  • CSCS Card is preferred.

Checks and eligibility to work: 

To be successful in this role you must be able to prove eligibility to work in the UK and hold a full UK drivers licence.   
 
If you are successful at interview and the Company considers making an offer of employment, you may be asked to give your consent to the following pre-employment check[s] being undertaken by our third-party provider, Experian (or any other appropriate third-party provider that the Company chooses to engage).   
 
The type of checks made will depend on the role in question but may include any or all the following

  • Criminal records (DBS);
  • Credit reference
  • DVLA 

The purpose of such checks will be to assess your suitability for the role.  If it subsequently transpires that you have given incorrect, false or misleading information, your application will not be taken further. 

Salary:

Rate of pay - £5.28 per hour in the first year for any age.
