Brickwork Site Operative

The Brickwork Site Operative will be a hands-on operative, responsible for day to day labouring duties on site to support our Direct Brickwork Gang. The position entails loading out of bricks and blocks ready for bricklayers and ensuring that the working environment is kept clean, clear and safe at all times.

This position is a physically demanding job which entails working on scaffolding at various heights, health and safety awareness is essential on site at all times and must be adhered to by all operatives.

Trades and labour are the backbone of our build process.

What you will do:

  • Keep production running carrying out day to day activities, minimise delays.
  • Good communication with other operatives.
  • Read and interpret working drawings for quantity of materials required.
  • Cut and trim bricks using hammers or chisels or masonry saws and other hand and power tools.
  • Cleaning and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Cleaning and maintaining all work tools.
  • Working in line with Taylor Wimpey HSE Procedures and in a safe environment.
  • Ability to solve problems with the use of various materials and methods.

What you will have:

  • A natural communicator who can support and motivate team members.
  • Previous on-site experience working within a team.
  • Construction related qualification in brickwork or similar related qualification.
  • IT Skills (Microsoft package, and mobile applications).
  • Knowledge of health, safety and environmental legislation.
  • Ability to plan and make decisions to enhance productivity.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
  • Good standard of Math’s and English skills.
