Our legal teams provide a valued, high quality and cost-effective service supporting our housebuilding business across the UK, covering a broad range of legal services.  

The Legal Support/Paralegal role is to support the UK Legal Director and the two lawyers in his team and would suit a paralegal or experienced legal secretary. The role will be varied and is an opportunity to work in-house for the legal team of a FTSE 100 company. You will work across a number of different practice areas, including dispute resolution, commercial and regulatory (no property work). What you will do: 

  • Providing support to the Legal Director, the Dispute Resolution Solicitor and Commercial & Operations Solicitor (“DCR Legal team”) on a range of legal support, paralegal and administrative activities
  • Legal support and administration including; preparation of emails both internally and externally and maintaining inboxes, preparation of various documents including agendas, reports and letters, updating and maintaining paper and electronic files, collation and preparation of training for the solicitors and legal teams
  • Paralegal activities to include; preparation, collation and circulation of monthly internal dispute reports and legal reports, supporting the Dispute Resolution Solicitor on dealing with claims and providing advice to regional businesses and supporting the Commercial and Operations Solicitor on dealing with commercial and compliance matters and providing advice to head office functions and regional businesses
  • Administrative support to include; diary management of Legal Director, photocopying, scanning, producing documents, arranging meetings, printing correspondence for posting etc. dealing with expense claims and archiving of documents

What you will have: 

  • Enthusiasm and a desire to contribute to the work of the team
  • Ability to prioritise and manage workload and work to tight deadlines when required
  • Relevant work experience in a similar fast paced environment 
  • Excellent attention to detail and communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Comprehensive IT skills to be self-sufficient without support on all Microsoft systems (particularly Word, Excel and Teams)
