IT Infrastructure Architect

This role is part of the IT services team enabling the provision, management and support of IT Infrastructure servicing Taylor Wimpey's internal and external customer needs. Working with 3rd parties you will be designing, implementing and supporting IT solutions across a broad set of technologies.

To be successful in this role you must be passionate about IT, have a solid technical background in Microsoft technologies and be able to communicate effectively with all stakeholders, technical and non-technical. 

What you will do:

  • Provide technical authority on all IT Infrastructure solutions
  • Provide guidance and technical assurance as part of Project Governance
  • Participate in proof of concepts to assist in defining technology direction and enabling business strategy.
  • Write architectural design documents and review and sign off design documents provided by 3rd Parties
  • Provide 3rd line support to Incident and Problem Management
  • Manage technical projects as required.

What you will have:

  • Solid technical knowledge including; Office 365, Azure, Windows Server, Active Directory, Storage, HyperV, Linux, Networking, VOIP, Mobiles, SQL
  • Experience in defining and delivering IT Infrastructure & Support strategies
  • Ability to work collaboratively with 3rd parties on solutions and incidents/problems
  • Excellent organisational, communication, presentational and interpersonal skills. Capability to communicate concisely and effectively, equally well with engineers, non-technical colleagues and senior stakeholders.
  • Self-motivation and determination with the proven ability to multitask, organise and prioritise workload whilst having to work under pressure and to deadlines.
