Commercial Director
Our regional commercial teams are integral to the successful delivery of every Taylor Wimpey site. The function serves as the linchpin between our Technical and Production functions and makes the reality of a Taylor Wimpey development come to life.
The Commercial Director position within the commercial team is a senior role that focuses on setting out, and successfully implementing, the regional business strategy for delivering efficient cost control and procurement needs in line with business unit targets. The role sits on the regional business unit board and will play an active part in setting the regional strategy as well as managing all members of the local commercial team.
Technical Project Manager (Cladding Remediation)
This role sits within our specialist cladding remediation department, established to assess and remediate medium and high rise buildings to address fire safety concerns within legacy developments. As a member of the team you will be directly contributing to improving the safety of buildings and providing assurance to residents through our customer-focused approach to remediation.
The scope of the role is to manage multiple projects through various stages in the project lifecycle, such as design, planning, H&S, contract negotiation and construction, to meet stakeholder and business expectations. Where we do not retain any legal interest in the property, you will be required to work with third-party building owners’ to procure suitable remediation schemes in the most appropriate and effective manner.
You will be accountable that the development activity complies with our internal CDM process, external regulatory bodies, and other statutory obligations, and act as the principal project lead fostering trusted relationships with key stakeholders.
Quantity Surveyor
Our regional commercial teams are integral to the successful delivery of every Taylor Wimpey project.
This role is an opportunity to become part of a dynamic team assisting in the commercial function and reporting for projects within the region including site budgets, payments, benchmarking, WIP, cash flows and valuations.
You will be responsible for monitoring and reporting on build costs periodically reporting any savings and excesses, and assisting in the monitoring and evaluation of contractor performance.
The role entails the management of external consultants involved in the commercial function and collaboratively working with other TW internal departments.
Receptionist/Office Admin Support (Part Time Job Share)
Our receptionists are based in our Business Units and are the face of Taylor Wimpey to our clients and customers visiting our offices.
You will be responsible for operating the Taylor Wimpey Business Unit’s switchboard, ensuring all calls are answered promptly, queries dealt with wherever possible and efficiently directed to the correct person when appropriate.
You will provide administrative support to the BU Management Team, Executive Secretary, Production Secretary, Finance Department, and other internal office staff when required and carry out all administrative duties as requested.
This is a part-time/job share opporunity, 5 days a week. You will need to ensure continuous reception cover by operating a true job share with the other part time receptionist as a priority and deliver an efficient and professional Reception service.
Trainee Sales Executive
At Taylor Wimpey we're all about providing quality to our customers, and amazing sales and service is at our core. The successful candidate will assist the Sales Executive in managing all sales proceeding including weekly contact with customers to ensure contract exchange deadlines are achieved and that customers are kept fully informed throughout the home buying process. Also, you will help to maintain accurate records of all visitors, sales, plot files and sales of optional extras and to communicate this information to third parties as required.
Under the guidance of the Sales Executive the Trainee Sales Executive will help the team to secure the sale of new homes and achieve contract exchanges and legal completions in line with company targets. Team Leader
The Team Leader is responsible for taking ownership of more complex and challenging customer issues, tasks and complaints once customers have settled into their new homes and been handed over from the Customer Relations Managers, managing the resolution through to completion. This includes correctly identifying what action needs to be taken, allocating the correct resource in a timely manner, and where appropriate, ensuring the necessary parts and suuplies have been ordered to enable remediation works to be carried out. They should also ensure customers and any relevant 3rd parties are kept up to date with progress towards the resolution of their issue or complaint.
The Team Leader should be conversant in using the technology provided to carry out their role and be adherent to the relevant processes and procedures, including all health and safety regulations and protocols.
Customer Relations Manager
The role of the Customer Relations Manager is to act as the customers’ key point of contact in the Taylor Wimpey Customer Journey from the point they are introduced to their home onwards, managing the customer relationship face to face.
The Customer Relations Manager plays a key role in confirming our homes are at the required standard at the point of handover; and thereafter in managing resources directly, to address and resolve any customer issues in the most efficient, positive and reliable manner.
Finance Director (14 Month FTC - Maternity Cover)
The Finance Director is a key member of the regional management team (BUMT), acting in a business-wide role to proactively support the Managing Director (MD) to maximise delivered value. The Finance Director will have a deep level of operational knowledge, to enable critical review and challenge of key decisions and information across all functional disciplines within the business unit (BU).
The role leads the finance function and financial capability for the region, providing business and performance insight and challenge. The Finance Director is a steward for the business with an eye to promoting governance in the BU, and provides a business and financial control ethos. However, importantly, the Finance Director is also a catalyst for accelerating value optimization in the business, on behalf of the shareholders.
The Finance Director reports to the Regional Managing Director, with a dotted reporting line to the Group Finance Director. The role acts alongside other Finance Directors in the division, developing innovative thinking and solutions for the division and the wider finance function. The Finance Director will work with the Divisional Finance Director (DFD), communicating regularly, and providing accurate and timely information for use by the Divisional Chairman and Group Finance. The Finance Director role covers four broad elements:
Catalysing optimal business performance
- Review and challenge new business from key operational and performance perspectives, in conjunction with the BUMT. Provide financial oversight and final recommendation which considers all key business aspects, to the MD.
- Lead the business planning process. Review and challenge operational assumptions with the BUMT before critical decisions are taken, and for inclusion in plans and forecasts. Provide accurate and insightful financial information to support the creation and articulation of business plans.
- Challenge and encourage the business unit to optimise value from the landbank, delivering the anticipated financial performance, but maintaining the Group’s customer centric ethos.
A businesses strategist
- Together with the MD, lead the development of the BU business strategy, in conjunction with the wider BUMT. Support the strategy with financial analysis.
A financial steward
- Work to protect the assets of the business, ensure compliance with financial regulation and ensure appropriate care and diligence is taken in the corporate governance of the region.
- Provide critical oversight of the core finance outputs and processes operated by the Finance Manager and team.
- Provide an overview to ensure robust financial processes and controls are consistently maintained.
- Work with the BUMT to actively identify business risks, driving possible mitigating solutions well in advance of potential risks crystallising. Horizon-scan for potential opportunities for the business to deliver, to help shape the future of the business.
An expert finance operator
- Create a team of suitably qualified and experienced finance staff and develop both technical and soft skills in the team.
- Drive the attraction and retention of key talent within the Finance function through a positive and engaging approach.
