Our Logistics and Supply Chain division is a crucial part of our business. They ensure our regional business are equipped with the materilas to build homes for our customers. Supplying critical materials for every build, they are responsible for a complex, national distribution network and also manage our impressive warehouse facility in Peterborough.
We are looking for an Operations Manager to effectively manage all Warehouse and Transport Operations at Taylor Wimpey Logistics. This is a critical position and delivers huge impact both on the customer experience and on bottom line performance.
Health & Safety is Taylor Wimpey’s number one priority, and in this role you will act as the H&S lead for the business working in conjunction with the Regional HSE Advisor and Site Management Team.
What you will do:
- Responsible for the operation, ensuring best practice is followed to deliver the optimum and most cost efficient solution, ensuring the operation is maximised and service levels met
- Manage site safety to include, Weekly / Monthly Health & Safety Inspections and subsequent follow up action
- Compliance with company and local statutory obligations regarding working time legislation, Health & Safety and Quality
- Ensure effective communication processes are established and maintained for both external/internal customers, with an emphasis on collaboration
- Recruitment, performance management and development of the relevant teams
- Managing, reviewing and reporting of KPI’s
What you will have:
- Previous experience of warehouse and transport operations managing large teams across shifts
- Proven experience with continuous improvement and Lean Six Sigma
- Previous experience of change management
- Strong analytical skills
