Here at Taylor Wimpey are looking for a Payroll Manager to join our Head office payroll team. You will lead the Taylor Wimpey Payroll function, ensuring that employees across two different payrolls (weekly and monthly) are paid on time and accurately.  You will be responsible for managing all statutory processes and work in partnership with our payroll provider to ensure that the system reflects legal, statutory and Taylor Wimpey requirements.   As the Payroll Manager you will proactively drive efficiency, consistency and manage risks across all payroll processes including the development of any new processes as and when required.  You will be the subject matter expert for queries and questions raised by employees or other relevant stakeholders within the business. Key stakeholders will be; Payroll Provider, Regional Payroll Administrators, Finance Teams and HR colleagues.

What will you do:

  • Monitor the day to day processing of payrolls and evaluate teams’ workloads, re distributing as necessary to ensure completion within agreed deadlines
  • Responsible for all legislative items and compliance attributed to the payroll processes including National Minimum Wage
  • Work with the Payroll provider to set up and test new pay elements, deductions etc. as and when required, adding these for reporting
  • Ensure PAYE and Class 1a submissions are reconciled and paid to HMRC in a timely manner
  • Liaising with finance to ensure that correct GLi codes are applied and tested
  • Dealing with the P11d’s and reporting of taxable benefits i.e. company car tax, P46cars, medical benefits, issuing P11d’s etc.
  • Any other payroll related matters as and when required including the annual pay review and benefit renewal processes

What will you have:

  • Strong proven experience in leading a high-volume payroll Department
  • Good understanding of PAYE, SMP, SSP legislation etc.
  • Proven ability to manually Calculate PAYE, SMP, SSP
  • Proven leadership skills and ability to work collaboratively
  • Understanding of P11d and Class 1A submissions
  • Sound working knowledge of SD Worx MyHR system
