Quality Controller

Our Logistics and Supply Chain division is a crucial part of our business. They ensure our regional business are equipped to build homes for our customers. Supplying critical materials for every build they are responsible for a complex, national distribution network and also manage our impressive warehouse facility in Peterborough.

The Quality Controller will be responsible for monitoring and reporting back the accuracy of all warehousing transactions at Taylor Wimpey Logistics. The Quality Controller will recommend and help implement improvements to processes to deliver better transactional accuracy and improved warehousing efficiency.

What you will do:

  • To check orders have been picked, scanned and shipped correctly in order to minimise failures to customers and identify issues with process
  • To check accuracy of all transactions within the Warehouse and Paddocks
  • To investigate any stock shortages or gains identified
  • Ensure a discrepancy log is recorded of all errors and fed back to management team for review
  • Recommend and help implement improvement measures to ensure accuracy of transactions
  • Assist with weekly cycle counts and annual stock count
  • Update daily/weekly/monthly reports highlighting successes and failures to the SIOP manager with suggestions for improvements where appropriate


What you will have:

  • Previous Quality Control experience
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel
  • Good understanding of ERP systems and processes (ideally Sage X3)

To be successful in this role you must be able to prove eligibility to work in the UK and hold a full UK drivers licence.

The type of checks made will depend on the role in question but may include any or all the following:

  • Criminal records (DBS);
  • Credit reference
  • DVLA

The purpose of such checks will be to assess your suitability for the role. If it subsequently transpires that you have given incorrect, false or misleading information, your application will not be taken further.
