The Group Accountant is a key part of the Group Finance team, acting as a primary contact for business units as part of the reporting processes. The role is responsible for the consolidation of the Group’s monthly financial information and for the key non-financial metrics, used for both internal and external reporting purposes. The role ensures accuracy of data before providing it to the Group’s Business Performance team for their further analysis.  

The role will help ensure that the Group accounting policies reflect the latest accounting standards and that relevant policy documents are kept up to date. The role is a key contact throughout the audit and external reporting process for both the Group’s auditors and investor relations team, assisting in the delivery of the Group and subsidiary financial statements and City announcements.  

The role is also responsible for the monthly management accounts for corporate entities, including Taylor Wimpey plc.

What you will do:

  • Responsible for the monthly management accounts and forecasts for corporate entities.
  • Complete and manage the monthly financial consolidation processes for actuals and forecast.
  • Key point of contact throughout the external audit process.
  • Support the Group Business Reporting team and Head of Group Reporting in preparing the finance sections of the Investor Relations slide packs for half year and full year reporting, as specified by the Investor Relations team.
  • Provide support to business units on technical accounting issues.
  • Involvement in the Finance Graduate programme, providing support to finance graduates.
  • Assist with the production of the consolidated Group accounts at full and half year end.

What you will have:

  • Experience of managing consolidations.
  • IFRS Technical Experience.
  • FTSE 250+ listed company experience.
  • Qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA preferred)
  • Degree level or equivalent.
