Job Summary

  • Reporting to the Data Protection Manager, you will have oversight and responsibility for TW’s data subject request processes and assist with DP/privacy matters such as DPIAs, incident management, contracts and advice and guidance for TW business units.
  • Coordinate with Epiq Discovery (TW’s outsourced vendor that supports with DSAR management) to ensure that all DSARs are logged, actioned and work delegated to Epiq where needed.  Work to build an approach for performing quality assurance of DSARs where applicable.
  • Manage and respond to DP matters directed to the DP Team or via the DP Mailbox. Examples include, responding to DPIA triage questionnaires, determining whether a full DPIA is required and progressing DPIAs with the business. They will also support reviewing DP contract addendums,  contractual privacy language as well as reviewing and  managing incidents. This will involve providing DP advice and guidance in relation to business matters.
  • Assist with DP remediation programme actions such as policy/procedure drafting,  retention, documenting the ROPA, designing training and awareness materials/ communications.
  • Assist with building metrics, dashboards and reports on TW’s performance on DSARs.
  • Coordinate with the other Data Protection Analyst, to perform day to day responsibilities for DSAR management.
  • Escalate matters as required to the Data Protection and Deputy Data Protection Manager.
  • Provide support and assistance with privacy matters as directed by the Data Protection Manager or Deputy Data Protection Manager.
  • In coordination with the other DP Analyst, take responsibility/ ownership for administrative privacy matters such as renewing ICO registrations, producing quarterly training statistics and directing payment invoices to Finance or the BU to settle payments with our outsourced DSAR vendor Epiq Discovery. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Act as the TW’s internal POC for Epiq’s outsourced DSAR vendor (Epiq Discovery) for DSAR related matters.
  • Coordinate/delegate DSAR related work as required with the other Data Protection Analyst 
  • As directed by the DPM/ Deputy DPM support with privacy related matters 
  • Proactively monitor and review the DP Mailbox for business privacy related queries or matters and any other DP intake routes such as the DP incident and DPIA register. 
  • Undertake and review data protection matters, such as re, contracts, privacy queries, updating the DP sharepoint/ intranet or training.
  • Progress privacy related matters with key business stakeholders (including marketing, HR or IT) such as DPIAs or junior/smaller scale projects which require privacy SME guidanceIterate and improve the DSAR process where any opportunities to do so are identified in conjunction with the other DP Analyst
  • Act with a degree of autonomy, in managing privacy matters directed to the DP team as mentioned in the Job specification above. 
  • Support with the TW’s Data Protection plan for 2025, as directed by the DPM/ Deputy DPM, including taking ownership for project items and deliverables as directed by the DP Manager. 
  • Support with building dashboards or metrics relating to TW’s privacy program, specifically DSARs in conjunction with the other DP Analyst
  • Identify and execute improvements to the DSAR program, such as quality assurance of DSAR throughput, in consultation with the other DP Analyst
  • In conjunction with the other DP Analyst, support with administrative tasks such as producing DP training statistics, renewing ICO registrations or settling payment invoices for our outsourced DSAR management vendor
  • Undertake further certifications and professional development in data privacy 
  • Implement feedback as applicable from TW BU’s relating to the DSAR process in areas such as timeliness, quality of redactions or general process, in conjunction with the other DP Analyst

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

  • A degree in law, information technology, information management or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • Hold or be working towards a recognised data protection certification or qualification such as BCS, CIPP/E, CIPM or CIPT.
  • At least 1 - 2 years of experience in a data protection or privacy role, preferably in a similar sector or large organisation.
  • Some knowledge and understanding of the UK Data Protection Act, GDPR and other relevant data protection and privacy laws and regulations, and their application in practice.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of attention to detail and accuracy.
  • A proactive and flexible approach, with the ability to prioritise and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced and changing environment.
