Job Summary

We are a new division of Taylor Wimpey a leading UK house builder, who have established 5-star ratings for their homes and are investing in their own timber frame business where we design, manufacture, supply and build sustainable, efficient new homes.  

Your role will involve leading a team to construct these timber frame components to create these new Homes. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Helps production operatives succeed through performance management, coaching, feedback and team development.
  • Safeguards product quality by adhering to quality standards and processes.
  • Report production and other data required to accurately reflect production and maintain inventory accuracy.
  • Develops a high-performance team with high levels of engagement and performance.
  • Ensure all SOP’s and health and safety legislation is always adhered to.
  • To provide direction to their team of factory operatives.
  • To train all new starters on the SOP’s and ensure they are trained and competent in using the tools required.
  • Supports operatives in understanding company policies and practices.
  • Handling and using tools such as nail and staple guns, hand saws and chop saws.
  • Cutting timber and board materials to size using appropriate cutting equipment.
  • Operating pneumatic and electrical plant and equipment, including hand tools.
  • Preparing frames/joist sub-assemblies.
  • To be a competent person for the factory, when required.  

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

  • A manufacturing or process background  
  • ​​Must be able to work within a team 
  • ​​Basic carpentry skills 
  • ​Timber frame experience  
  • ​​​​​Reading and working from technical drawings.
