Job Summary

The Factory Manager will oversee all aspects of timber frame house manufacturing operations, ensuring production efficiency, quality standards, and safety compliance. This role requires strong leadership, technical knowledge of timber frame construction, and the ability to manage resources effectively to meet project timelines and customer expectations. 

Primary Responsibilities

Production Management

  • Plan, organise, and control manufacturing processes for timber frame components. 
  • Ensure production schedules align with project deadlines and BU requirements. 
  • Monitor workflow and implement process improvements for efficiency. 

Quality Assurance 

  • Maintain high standards of quality in timber frame fabrication. 
  • Implement and monitor quality control procedures to meet industry standards and building regulations. 

Team Leadership 

  • Manage and develop a team Team leaders , machine operators, and assembly staff. 
  • Conduct /organise training and performance reviews to build skills and maintain productivity. 

Health & Safety 

  • Enforce compliance with health and safety regulations. 
  • Conduct regular safety audits and risk assessments within the factory. 

Resource & Inventory Management 

  • Oversee procurement and inventory of timber and related materials. 
  • Optimize resource utilisation to minimize waste and reduce costs. 

Continuous Improvement 

  • Drive initiatives to improve efficiency, reduce lead times, and enhance product quality. 

Reporting 

  • Prepare and present production reports, KPIs, and cost analysis to senior management. 

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

  • Previous experience in management, timber frame processes and construction, production planning and procurement.
  • Works to ensure that customer service both internally and externally is an integrated part of their work and that of the department
  • Develop a good understanding of customer requirements and is responsive to customer needs
  • Full commitment to customer satisfaction
  • Ability to generate a right first-time culture•    
  • Bring innovation to the day-to-day processes and procedures but also encourage innovation in others and bring that to the fore in a controlled and concise manner
  • Individually be able to work under pressure but remain in control and have the ability to keep projects and individuals moving forward to meet the objectives. Be able to take independent action when required.
