Job Summary
Sets the strategic direction for marketing, insight, content, campaigns, customer communications, PR and social media.
Develops and delivers industry leading content and campaign activity using a breadth of digital and social advertising channels that produces the required volume of high-quality enquiries and leads that convert to sale cost effectively.
The Head of Marketing retains leadership accountability for national campaigns, content, CRM and prospect nurture, email marketing, PR, social media and Business Unit marketing support, working closely with the Brand Director to secure brand compliance across all customer touchpoints. The role ensures Business Units have access to appropriate campaigns, content, guidance, tools, training and agency support to respond to national and local market conditions.
Manage and track the performance of Head Office advertising campaigns, manages the Group marketing budget and provides guidance to Business Units. Ensure that all advertising and marketing content is developed and delivered in accordance with the brand guidelines and governance framework owned by the Brand Director.
Success requires a close working partnership with the Brand Director and visible matrix leadership across Head Office, regional and Business Unit teams: building alignment without direct authority, using insight, data and clear reporting to guide decisions, and communicating with impact to influence delivery across functions.

- Provide strategic marketing advice and practical support to Business Units responding to local market conditions, selling challenges and customer needs.
- Demonstrate matrix leadership across Sales, Digital, Customer Service, Communications, Design, Technical, Land and Planning, regional and Business Unit teams, creating shared priorities and securing delivery through influence rather than direct authority.
- Use robust data, performance reporting and clear recommendations to shape decisions, challenge constructively and guide stakeholders towards agreed marketing and commercial outcomes.
- Create effective cross-functional governance, communication and reporting rhythms that clarify accountabilities, surface risks and dependencies, and maintain momentum against agreed actions.
Campaign and Lead Generation
- Oversee the national marketing campaign calendar, including seasonal, market-driven, national brand and tactical campaign activity.
- Ensure the campaign calendar and associated requirements are regularly monitored, reviewed and updated.
- Oversee the development of campaign toolkits, template content and copy that Business Units can use to address local selling issues, schemes, incentives and relevant legal requirements.

- Oversee the delivery of effective creative and PR campaigns for Head Office and Business Units.
- Ensure campaigns are designed to produce high-quality enquiries and leads cost-effectively and to support conversion to sale.
- Promote appropriate use and adoption of centrally developed campaign materials across Business Units.
