Job Summary

The role of Commercial Payments Co-ordinator is a key position in our Commercial team that includes Estimating, Procurement, and Quantity Surveying. You will be an effective, credible colleague who can work collaboratively with our other departments and subcontractors, and positively represent the Commercial team both internally and externally.

 

Primary responsibilities are to complete, manage and coordinate all commercial payments for our housing developments. 

Primary Responsibilities

  • Complete training and reach expert competency level on our COINS construction management software, our core business system.
  • Build and maintain strong subcontractor relationships.
  • Assist with the monitoring of the “Payment Applications” email inbox.
  • Liaise with our subcontractors to ensure timely and accurate payments.
  • Ensure all self billing tick payments are processed accurately including CIS splits.
  • Ensure all variation draft certificate payments are processed accurately including CIS splits where appropriate.
  • Compile and issue Payment Notices to comply with TW Legal Guidance Note.
  • Ensure compliance with all control procedures and deadlines set down in our Commercial, Operating, and HSE procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with contract conditions and assist where required with any contractual queries or disputes with subcontractors.
  • Input and manage pricing and recharge information from site instructions into our Record of Variations and Dayworks software (RVD).
  • Update BoQ's with variation payment details and ensure variation approvals are in place prior to payment.
  • Liaise with Options Coordinator when appropriate for any change in subcontractors and or pricing information.
  • Review and process all options payments.
  • Work closely and build close relationships with the production and technical teams to promote and monitor site cost control throughout the development cycle.
  • Any other duties as required by the Senior Commercial Manager or Commercial Director.

Experience, Qualifications, Technical Requirements

  • Previous experience in a commercial payments or finance role, ideally within construction or housebuilding.
  • Articulate, numerate, analytical with strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent IT skills (working knowledge and experience of COINS and Microsoft Excel preferred).
