Job Summary

​​To provide information, where necessary, to assist the Head of Estimating with the land purchase exercise that will enable clear materials and labour costs to be considered at that stage. 

​Ensure that all estimating work required to deliver the business unit output is completed in a timely manner and within an agreed programme. To present the information in the required format to the Head of Estimating 

​To maintain the business culture and control framework within the boundaries set out in the Operating Framework and Taylor Wimpey CDM processes. 

​The role will include on-the-job training, and support with internal progression opportunities. 

Primary Responsibilities

Provide information for land purchase exercise: 

  • Once land opportunities are identified, familiarise the geographical area and consider site issues 
  • Assist in the preparation of estimates 

Complete all estimating work: 

  • Collate and review orders and comparison schedules from Project Surveyors for assessment. 
  • To load COINs at LPE and PLA stages. 
  • Maintain schedules of quantities at various levels and price them individually. 
  • Ensure the cost base is updated. 
  • Assist in the measurement of land opportunities using OnSight. 
  • Download and manage dataroom’s for new and existing Land Opportunities. 

Monitor and report costs: 

  • Complete the land purchase exercise for presentation to the management tea. 
  • Assist in updating the existing land purchase exercises on a quarterly basis for presentation to the management team. 
  • Maintain the LPE/PLA monthly issued schedule. 

General 

  • Ensure awareness of continuing product development in light of changes in legislation i.e. building regulations, NHBC requirements, HSE, Taylor Wimpey health and safety, etc. 
  • Attend concept, design team, specification and any other relevant meeting as required under the Company’s Operating framework 
  • Undertake regular site visits for new projects. 
  • Input and maintain any computer-based estimating databases or systems. 
  • Any other duties as required by the Head of Estimating.

  • High standard of financial literacy & analytical skills
